Starbucks has always been a place where you can find the best coffee in the world. But in 1971, one had to travel far to our only store in the iconic Seattle Pike Place Market.

 

70s of the 20th century

The first Starbucks opens. The name comes from the novel by Herman Melville, Moby Dick, a classic American novel about whaling in the 20th century. Sea seems appropriate name for a company that imports and offers the best coffee in the world of frost, eager Seattle residents.

Howard Schultz joined Starbucks in 1982. During a business trip to Italy, he visited the most famous espresso bars in Milan. Impressed with their popularity and culture, he sees their potential in Seattle. He’s right – after trying lattes and mocha drinks, Seattle quickly addicted to coffee.

 

90s of the 20th century

Starbucks extends beyond Seattle, first to the rest of the U.S. and then worldwide. After becoming one of the first companies that entitle employees to part-time to purchase shares of the company, Starbucks became a limited company.

 

2008

In 2008, Starbucks builds on the Bulgarian market. The first store opened in Sofia, 62 Joseph Gourko Street.

 

2014

Starbucks phenomenon continues. Currently, Starbucks has more than 23,000 restaurants in more than 40 countries. In addition to our wonderful coffee and coffee drinks, people enjoy Tazo ® tea and Frappuccino ® beverages.
